A student from Crotone, Italy, Eva Trosino, wrote an essay titled “Beyond the Encounter: When a Friendship Guides the Future” about her friendship with her classmate Mariakarola, who has Kleefstra syndrome, a rare genetic condition. The National Coordination of Human Rights Teachers has formally submitted Eva’s work to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, recognizing it as a meaningful example of inclusion, human rights, and civic education.
