EHMT1 and EHMT2 inhibition induces fetal hemoglobin expression

Laboratory study in human blood-forming cells and mouse leukemia cells found that blocking EHMT1/EHMT2 increased fetal hemoglobin, a target for sickle cell disease treatment. The work identifies an epigenetic mechanism but does not show patient benefit or an available therapy.
