EHMT1 knockdown induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in lung cancer cells by increasing CDKN1A expression

This research article studied EHMT1, the gene linked to KS, in lung cancer, not KS. EHMT1 protein was higher in human lung tumor samples than normal lung tissue. Reducing EHMT1 in lung cancer cell lines increased CDKN1A and led to cell death (apoptosis) and cell-cycle arrest. These are cancer-cell findings, not a KS treatment.
