This Nature research article reports lab and animal experiments showing that EHMT1 is part of the PRDM16 complex that guides brown fat cell development and heat production. Removing EHMT1 in brown fat reduced brown-fat traits and thermogenesis and led to obesity and insulin resistance in mice; it does not test a treatment.
